Local elections in Rotterdam were coming up and things were different this year. To get ‘Rotterdammers’ more involved in their neighborhood, the city introduced neighborhood committees. These consist only of local people. Every ‘Rotterdammer’ can go to them with questions or ideas about their neighborhood. Awesome right?
But… that’s quite a change! And all the 600.000 citizens had to know how it worked and when to vote. And that’s where our animated explanations came in!
First we had to explain the concept. We developed a recognizable CUSTOM style for Rotterdam and used it to explain the change in just 75 seconds.
To reach even more people, we made a 30-second version for the local TV channel.
And finally we even made an even shorter soundless animation of 15 seconds to advertise in the city center.
This was displayed on enormous screens all around town, on buildings, metro stations and even in busses.
So everyone would know about what was happening and what changed.
